Bizarre And Unique Green Lantern Movie Costume

The Green Lantern movie costume has everybody talking about how best to recreate this intriguing outfit. In the movie it appears as if the suit is not an actual physical piece of clothing but rather is a body of green light emerging from the character's ring. The effect is a body hugging neon-like light that emphasizes his torso muscles.

The suit can be made from a Kelly green leotard with a turtle neck. There are websites where these can be purchased at affordable prices. In order to create pronounced abs a body sculpting undershirt can also be purchased online that creates the illusion that the chest muscles are developed. This shows through very well with the Lycra turtle neck leotard on top of it.

Black Funtasma boots would be very suitable to virtually complete the outfit. The style of the boot is space-age Gothic. There are about a dozen versions of this to choose from on a well known giant online store. Regular lime green rubber boots bought in a discount store would be effective also.
The fictional character also wears a greenish-colored eye-mask. The artistically inclined can actually paint this onto their face around their eyes. This option is the most comfortable since there is no mask to hold onto the face. The recommended equipment for creating this mask are a small sponge that is wedge-shaped, and white, black and kelly green paint from any face painting product line.

Keeping an image of the mask close at hand to refer to regularly is helpful when duplicating it onto the face. The greenish shade and black are used to fill in the exposed skin areas.Starting off with the greenish-shade the eye area right up to a few inches over the eyebrows is painted in. The white color is used to accentuate more prominent regions of the face. Free tutorial videos are online to help in the shading technique.

For a real mask one can make it cheaply from a 12x18 inch foam sheet available in craft stores. Other supplies include two rigid plastic Batman masks purchased from an inexpensive discount shop. Cut put a six inch wide rectangle from one end of the sheet. Preheat an over to 250 degrees F and place the foam piece onto the rack for a few minutes.

Remove the drooping foam piece and place onto the eyes of the Batman mask. Cup the second mask over it and press to shape the foam. Trace around the eyeholes with a black felt pen. Remove the new mask from between the two Batman masks and trim off the excess material cutting out the two eye holes also. Adhere the mask to the face with a few dabs of spirit gum.

The Green Lantern movie costume ring is available for purchase from a major children's toy store. It can also be made from green wax, cardboard or wood. The easiest is to make a template of the ring on paper and then transfer this to cardboard. Once it is bent and glued together it can be spray painted green. There are many template patterns available online to choose from.
