Occupants of a frozen wasteland in the movie are the Frost Giants

The Son of Odin – Thor

Of course, the principal character is Thor himself. He wears a suit of armor with his signature red cloak and also his hammer. The red cloak can be made from any piece of fabric but it should not be too bflighty, nor too heavy to weigh down the wearer. You can choose to die some cloth or buy the appropriate colour. The hammer is easily made from a block of polystyrene attached to a kitchen towel tube. It should then be painted appropriately.

Cardboard is a good material from which to create armor. Thor has armor that is formed from shaped panels. You can copy this technique using double wall cardboard which is generally used for packaging appliances like TVs. Once you have cut all your pieces out you can stick them together with a strong adhesive or duct tape and then apply latex paint.

Heimdall

The character of Heimdall is an obvious Halloween party choice because of the spectacular golden costume he wears with the distinctive head armor. If you are very creative you could try to achieve this attire from a mixture of cardboard and polystyrene. You should invest in some metallic spray paint which will really help to recreate the effect you are looking for.

Frost Giants

Occupants of a frozen wasteland in the movie are the Frost Giants. Their faces are spooky enough to be worthy of Halloween and should be extra fun to create. Lashings of honey or a similar sticky substance can be applied to the skin as a base. Upon this you can attach little flakes of white paper or tissue paper. This will help provide the illusion of icy, scaly skin. These creatures possess menacing red eyes and you can achieve a similar effect with a pair of old spectacles. Color the lenses with red felt tip pen or paint.
If you want to use your Frost Giant costume more than once then you can apply the effects to a mask rather than directly to the skin. Try using papier mache which can be moulded to get the contoured texture you will need to look authentic. After you have achieved this, paint the finished mask in a greyish or white paint.

Destroyer

If you want a real challenge in costume design then you could attempt to make that of the Destroyer. Get ready for some quite detailed and painstaking work. Your efforts should be well rewarded if you are able to recreate this awe inspiring giant. A suggestion would be to use bits of old leather which you can collect from a recycling station. The head should be a single cardboard box. Cut away the eye section and cover the open space from the inside with some semi transparent plastic.

Warrior Princess – Sif

If you want a Thor movie costume for women then study the character of Sif. In the film she is dressed in robe like attire which is paneled with leather in areas like the shoulder. Use old leather bags or card covered in fabric to recreate the leather armoring.
