With each passing year

With each passing year, there are always the “hot” or “trendy” costume ideas that appear for Halloween. They litter the streets and are seen worn everywhere you turn on the holiday. It’s important that we spend a little bit of time using our creativity to construct the coolest costume around rather than shopping for a pre-packaged one. Here are some good ideas that are simple to make and your friends will appreciate.
1. Wayne Campbell (‘Wayne’s World’) – The classic ’90s movie character is as recognizable as they come. The long, flowing locks of hair enveloped by a jet black hat displaying “Wayne’s World” is probably the most difficult part of making the costume. For the rest, all you need is some sneakers, jeans, a black t-shirt, and a blonde best friend that has a slight obsession with licorice. Then, you’ll be the one giving out a “schwing!” to every girl you meet!

2. Doc Brown (“Back To The Future”) – One of the more under appreciated characters in a major cinematic project, Doc Brown is a pretty recognizable character by people of all ages. The lab coat, crazy yelling and signature static hair will be easy to assemble with minimal work put into it. Just make sure you bring your flux capacitor along for the ride.

3. Le-lu (“The Fifth Element) – Although she does not speak very much English, it does not take much communication to realize that this is a fantastic costume idea for those females that want to have clothes on this Halloween. Sporting orange hair and pants/suspenders, Le-lu creates a cool look that men will appreciate on girls – hey, Bruce Willis loved it!

4. Jay and/or Silent Bob (“Clerks”, etc.) – These two hooligans are one of the easiest costumes to imitate and one of the coolest duos to become on Halloween. All that is required are long coats, long hair and a  few hats to round it out. With the spread of appearances by these two, friends around you are bound to have seen a film starring the two studs, thus getting you compliments.
5. Poison Ivy (“Batman and Robin”) – I won’t lie. This costume idea is mainly being chosen for two reasons: 1) Batman is AWESOME. 2) Uma Thurman’s costume was absolutely incredible. The complementary mix of venomous killer and sweet seductress made Ivy one of the female characters in the past few decades that sticks out to me not only for her costume, but also for her personality. So if any ladies plan on taking on this costume, dazzle your friends with your sensual yet mysterious side!
